Damp again

Found these steps while looking for plants - they must have been used by the cottagers years ago.
This is the Water Wheel Pit of the long gone Duxbury Corn Mill apart from the tell tale large stones all around it would be hard to believe there was a little community in this area, plus a few coal mines.
I took this photo stood in the pit - it is full of debris now.
The intact wall that the water flowed over back into the River Yarrow.
Large Stones - those two mature trees are a substantial size to give you an idea of the stones
Walls like this all over the area.

Take Care

  1. I love visiting places like this and wondering what it was like when it was a bustling enterprise!
