Saturday 9 July

On our own so we wandered on to the Lower Burgh Meadow.


 Alsike Clover - Trifolium hybridum small patch just going over.

 Broad Leaved Helleborine - Epipactus helleborine this patch had about 7 plants last year, they are here but look like the strimmers have done a bit of cutting down, unfortunately they are near to the paths edge.

 Garden Privet  - Ligustrum ovalifolium this one is part of an hedge in the village, the scent always reminds me of my childhood, it was always a popular hedge. Wild Privit does grow round here but I have not seen it flower yet.

 Purple Loosestrife - Lythrum salicaria not a lot on the meadow I expected it to spread but it seems to be less this year.

 Square-stalked St John's-wort - Hypericum tetrapterum there's plenty of St John's-wort about but not square stalked and yes this is also next to the path, I have yet to see this flower.
